Art ornaments inspired by The Met collection.
With its rich hues and pillowy petals, the peony inspired the jewel-toned blooms defining a magnificent floor lamp in The Met's American Wing. Designed in 1904–15 by Louis C. Tiffany (American, 1848–1933) for Tiffany Studios (American, 1902–32), the elaborate florals on the Museum's lamp, reinterpreted on this luminous cloisonné ornament, illustrate the designer's obsession with natural beauty.
